Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to vacate his three heavyweight world titles has seen Agit Kabayel elevated to WBC heavyweight world champion, and now Usyk has predicted how a fight between the German and fellow heavyweight ruler Daniel Dubois would play out.

Usyk has twice knocked out Dubois, first when defending his unified WBA, WBO and IBF crown in Poland and then when becoming a two-time undisputed champion and subsequently ending Dubois’ IBF reign at Wembley Stadium.

Dubois has since bounced back and become a two-time world champion by capturing the WBO marble against fellow Briton, Fabio Wardley, earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Usyk was linked to a showdown with Kabayel throughout 2026 as he was the WBC mandatory challenger, but an underwhelming display against Rico Verhoeven convinced Usyk that a scrap with  Kabayel could prove consequential.

As a result, the undefeated Ukrainian opted to relinquish his three world titles, with Kabayel being one beneficiary as he was upgraded to full WBC world titleholder.

On the DAZN broadcast of the Anthony Joshua and Kristian Prenga event, Usyk was asked on his opinion of the champions that have succeeded him and he declared his belief that Kabayel would get the better of ‘Triple D’ in any potential title unification.

However, the 39-year-old southpaw then went on to predict that 21-year-old Moses Itauma would be able to hand Kabayel his first career defeat, believing the youngster to be the best heavyweight on the planet, despite the fact that he has not yet boxed beyond the sixth round.
