Oleksandr Usyk has offered a bleak assessment of how Jake Paul may fare against his new teammate, Anthony Joshua, on December 19.
Not only does Joshua boast the far greater experience, but the 2012 Olympic champion also brings to the table a rather significant selection of physical advantages. Because of this, many are choosing to view his clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul as merely a tune-up fight, albeit a highly lucrative one that will be streamed live on Netflix.
According to promoter Eddie Hearn, ‘AJ’ is largely treating this as an opportunity to dust off the cobwebs before entering what promises to be a more meaningful assignment in February.
And while the Ukrainian comprehensively beat his former foe on both occasions, he now appears to be impressed by what he has seen from Joshua behind closed doors.
In an interview with Boxing King Media, Usyk compares his British teammate to a high-performance car while, at the same time, placing Paul into the bracket of a more modest vehicle.
“I have no idea [what will happen]. [Is this fight] dangerous for Anthony?
“A Rolls-Royce cannot have any kind of competition with a Fiat – it makes no sense. Anthony is a Rolls-Royce, Jake Paul is a Fiat.”
