AFTER Anthony Joshua passed the latest test on his intended route to the top of the heavyweight tree – stopping arch-rival Dillian Whyte on Saturday – we asked our fans on Facebook how the hot prospect and British and Commonwealth champion would perform right now, against world ruler Tyson Fury. Here is what 50 of them had to say about Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua.
Michael Carabott
Fury has just outfoxed and outboxed Klitschko. Let him enjoy the start of his reign. Joshua looks impressive, but he needs more fights under his belt. Fighting more opponents will give him more styles to work out. Fury uses at least four or five different ones in any given bout.

If Joshua can take a left hook from a powerhouse in Dillian Whyte I’m quite sure he’d take Furys shots (if he was to get hit). Who’s the better boxer? Fury had good amateur pedigree but AJ won an Olympic super-heavyweight gold medal. Who’s faster and more powerful? AJ can run 100m in less than 11 seconds and is built like a muscular beast, although Fury does have faster hands and throws from complex angles. Anthony Joshua wins.
Samuel Jones
Fury any which way he wants. This fight is way way way too soon for AJ. I thought it was a leap before the Klitschko fight but Fury is so far ahead right now. Give it a year or so perhaps it’s different but only one winner right now and that’s Fury.
Phil Coppola
Tyson Fury comfortably. He takes Joshua to school just now… maybe in five years it would be a better fight for Joshua.
Simon Malcherczyk
Klitschko made Fury look good, the fight was a poor advertisement for heavyweight boxing, I personally don’t rate Fury and feel he won’t keep his belts very long! AJ has all the tools to be a great heavyweight, he just lacks the maturity that comes with rounds under the belt with quality fighters.
Martin Whipday
How anyone can say Fury is a better boxer is beyond me, okay he won the title but with the worst boxing match I have ever witnessed, an embarrassment to heavyweight boxing. AJ will beat him now IMO.
Graham Wraight
I think Joshua would do him right now. Apart from an old Klitschko who has Fury really fought in his career – Dereck Chisora or some pumped-up cruiserweight. AJ would demolish Fury now.
Jay Brooks
Fury wins this fight hands down. He has the superior boxing skills and physical advantages to beat AJ comfortably.
Craig William Jones
Fury would beat Joshua now, although I think Joshua would beat Deontay Wilder now. He could go that route after winning the European to set up a massive British unification fight in 2017 providing Fury keeps winning.
Daley Francis
Based on Saturday night, Fury would jab Joshua into oblivion. But if Joshua hit Fury with the same uppercut with which he KO’d Whyte, Fury would travel back in time. Give it two years and this could be one for the ages.

I’m a fan of both, I had Fury to beat Klitchko which he did but Joshua has now proved he can last and has a chin which was a question he comfortably answered. I’d go Joshua but at the end of the day in heavyweight boxing it only takes one shot so no one can be 100 per cent sure.
Fata Osy Sangyum
I like both boxers but my favourite is Anthony Joshua and also my favourite to knock out Tyson Fury. Anthony has the techniques and the knockout power-punches. If it happens it won’t be a long fight. Good luck to you both.
Chris Reeves
Fury is a step up in class at the moment, he would absolutely school Joshua. Fury’s jab and footwork would have Joshua absolutely snookered. Always a puncher’s chance in any heavyweight fight but for me Fury would embarrass him.
Sam Robinson
Everyone is going nuts about Anthony Joshua, Fury’s the world heavyweight champion, Joshua has just won the British title – not a chance Joshua will win – regardless of the power he has Fury will just play with him all night long.
Ash Chambers
Anthony Joshua all the way, a few more fights and he will show that Tyson isn’t that good, he got lucky with Klitchsko. As for Joshua he would go straight into Tyson to get the KO and he will because he is way too powerful for Tyson
Ricky Williamson
Joshua has fought undefeated fighters in his last two fights so give him a break, saying he’s fought nobodies. Fury has only fought bums apart from an ageing Klitschko, Joshua wins for me by KO.
Allan Lawrence
I hate Fury and I hope Klitschko ends his career in the rematch, but he would beat Joshua comfortably purely because he stands and jabs. Joshua was given some trouble by Whyte who jabbed a lot and it went to round eight. Fury is much more experienced however I think a lot of people like me who hate Fury will say Joshua.
Michael Oppong
Tyson Fury is technically better. He will win most of the rounds, AJ will struggle to hurt him! He will struggle to land a clean punch as Tyson has a awkward style meaning his defence is brilliant! Tyson will make it look too easy by schooling him!
Tom Leary
In a year or so maybe Joshua. I’m sick of people saying he has only fought bums, his record at the moment is on par with Fury’s. Both fought easy opponents to start with and then fought for and won the British title in their 15th fight, Joshua knocking out Whyte and Fury going the distance with Chisora.
Paul Gunnin
Fury would win. Joshua couldn’t cope with Fury’s power. If Whyte rocked AJ then I think Fury would finish him. Give Joshua a few more fights with rounds and hard-hitting opponents and he will be able to push for the bigger boys and succeed.

Joshua is still young and after a few more fights he’ll be ready. Wilder is wild but has size and power and throws a lot of punches for a heavyweight. Whyte is a decent fighter but still learning also.Chris Gillott
Tyson wins right now! We have yet to see AJ at top level, I think he should go in with Derek Chisora next, he would be a good test for AJ. Tyson has too much for AJ right now, and it would be a BIG mistake to match them now as AJ is not ready, and to make this match is unfair to both boxers.
Tony Dorstkar
Fury wins a wide points decision at the moment. Put Joshua in with the likes of Chisora, Malik Scott and David Haye then talk about a Fury fight. He needs to mature.
James Kodhtv Guy
Dillian Whyte would give Fury a hard fight! Remember Fury has been a professional for five years-plus so a lot more experience. 2017 for that fight . This year AJ defends the British and at the end of the year goes for the European belt.
Scott Foley
It’s a difficult one tbh… Fury’s head and foot movement would cause AJ problems like it did Wlad. However has Fury got a decent chin. If not you do wonder if AJ landed what would happen. I can’t see this fight happening till 2017 anyway, providing Fury is still champ!
Callum Luff
Joshua is not ready for that fight yet, experience-wise anyway. However I do think he beats Fury all day long. But he has things to work on first. I say, let them both defend their world and British titles another 2-3 times and then we will see.
Marky Man
If Joshua had the right fights he’d be ready now. Mike Tyson had 16 fights in 1985 and 13 fights in 1986 and they called that a slow process and he was world champ in less than two years. Because Joshua has the talent he needs correct guys like Mike did years ago.
Robert Victor Fenwick
I think people forget Joshua’s amateur background, he won a gold medal at the Olympics. The only problem Fury brings is his unorthodox style which might land a few punches. The fight with him and Klitschko was so boring. Klitschko however chose his fights over the last decade and Fury was his first real test for a while. Joshua could take him now if he wanted to and had the chance.
Tony Howell
Fury. He’s too awkward to fight and deserves respect he beat the fighter that no one could for 10 years.
Scott Timms
I can’t believe there are people dumb enough to think AJ would beat Fury right now. Haha he is a long long way off world class at the minute. Did any of you watch his fight on Saturday night? He is just lucky that Dillian is not the best finisher.

Before the Dillian fight I couldn’t call it. But AJ can take a dig. He has got a heart and fights like a lion. He beats Fury for me.
John Kelly
I think Joshua needs to join the queue at Fury’s door. I would want him to prove himself first with some decent opposition. How about David Price, Tony Thompson, Malik Scott, Kubrat Pulev and then Erkan Teper for the European title. Tough challenges but nothing to fear if he really is world class as they are all eminently beatable.
Richard Hill
Joshua because Tyson Fury is the worst champion at any weight division for over 40 years!
Ben Marsh
Is this a joke? Tyson beat Klitschko – rated one of the best ever heavyweights (on paper at least). Who has Joshua boxed? I like big Josh but see him getting seriously exposed if he was to box on the world scene tomorrow.
Lee Wragg
Looking at the 15 fights AJ has had, he clearly needs a proper bout, they’ve looked like hand-picked opponents. Fury is the one for him, and he will struggle fighting Fury, yes he has the power, that doesn’t mean he has the professional standard like Fury does.
Josh Vickers
People need to stop this Joshua train. It’s getting on my tits. Whyte put one hand on his chin in the second round on Saturday and Joshua was all over the place. As soon as he is matched up with heavyweights like this he won’t stand a chance as of yet. As much as I think Fury will kill him, I think the question is why does AJ deserve that fight yet?
Chris Davies
Tyson Fury has talent without doubt. He switches stances, he boxes at distance and leads with his jab. AJ also has talent but because of his attacking style he will always be prone to be caught by a counter-punch. I think Fury could prove too much right now.
Spencer Tarrant
Anyone that is saying AJ would do Fury right now is way off the mark! I like AJ but he has a long way to go yet before stepping in with Fury. Those that say otherwise, stick to UFC and Rocky movies, leave technical boxing to the true fans.
Ross Molloy
Tyson fury at this minute in time! AJ has just experienced his first real fight! He needs to work on a lot of things then he will be ready. I reckon 2017 could be his year.
Robert Welsh
Anyone who wants to fight Fury should beat Klitckho first. Joshua is another David Price.

I think it’s too hard to call at this stage in Joshua’s career, Fury would nullify Joshua’s power by keeping him on the end of the jab, which Fury does well and even Whyte managed to keep AJ away in the second by jabbing and moving.
Danilo Gateau
AJ will make a short end to Fury’s reign if they square up this year because AJ can match boxing skills with Fury and is fast enough to move and trade blows with him. AJ’s power is unmatched so far and will prove effective against Fury, if he doesn’t get KO’d.
Johny Powell
At this moment in time 100 per cent Fury. He just beat Klitschko who hadn’t lost for 11 years to win three world titles. AJ just fought his first live fighter and didn’t look as good as he did previously at British level so for me Fury would win now.
Tommy Coursey
I favour Anthony Joshua, based on athleticism alone. Fury is slow and uncoordinated, doesn’t throw enough, and he’s chinny. If Steve Cunningham’can drop him, Joshua walks right through him.
Lee Skelton
Tyson Fury quite easily at the moment; far too much boxing nous.
Gavin Lane
When Fury beat Klitschko he got him at the end of his career. The fight was boring with him prancing about the ring and Klitschko just watching him. Fair play to Fury he’s the champ right now but I can’t see him lasting long with the belt.
Thunder Tiger
Fury would give Joshua a straight-up boxing lesson.
Anthony Rayfield
Joshua would win, he’s proven himself to be calm under pressure, has a strong dominating presence in the ring. He’s a heavy hitter with pinpoint accuracy and has great footwork. The Tyson Fury v Klitschko fight was a slow, sloppy fight.
Ben West
It depends when they fight. If they fought now, I’d say it could go either way. When Joshua has gone and got another year or so of experience under his belt, he would absolute demolish Fury. No rush anyway, Joshua will be one of the greats when he retires IMO.
Anthony Redmond
Tyson Fury wins here and now without a doubt in my opinion. Another 18 months or two years down the line I’m not so sure. AJ needs fights and rounds under his belt just like Fury did. They shouldn’t rush him. I like both of them so that’s from a neutral point of view.
