Tyson Fury has revealed he refused to take water after outpointing Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday night [November 28] through fear of having his drink spiked with drugs.

The unbeaten Brit pulled off a sensational upset when he dethroned the WBA, WBO and IBF world champion at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany but was afraid he would be cheated out of the achievement.

He accused Klitschko’s team of trying to unsettle him at every turn and felt they would even go as far as sabotaging his post-fight drugs test.

“After the fight, I had it from good sources not to touch anything in the changing room because they might try to drug me,” he said.

“People were trying to pass me all sorts of things but unless it came from my own baggage, I wasn’t having it, there was no chance of me getting drugged.

“I went home dehydrated before I even touched anything because I was so frightened of being tested and failing the test because they’ve given me something. You can never be too careful.”

The 27-year-old also revealed he would make no decisions on his future until his “feet touched the ground” again after his win.
