Tyson Fury is set to return to action in “July or August” ahead of a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua. Now, ‘The Gypsy King’ has confirmed that one undefeated knockout artist is being ‘spoken about’ as a possible opponent.

Fury originally wanted to take on Anthony Joshua in the summer, but ‘AJ’ – whose solitary outing since a September 2024 KO defeat to Daniel Dubois was against Jake Paul – booked a ‘warm-up’ fight in the interim.

Joshua takes on Albania’s Kristian Prenga on July 25, so Fury has been searching for a dance partner of his own. If both men win, it is understood that they will face off in November.

Eight days ago, Boxing News revealed that Fury could take on an Albanian of his own, with recent sparring partner Nelson Hysa considered to be ‘the leading option’ according to a source close to the event.

Now, speaking to iFL TV, Fury has confirmed that 41-year-old Hysa is being ‘talked about’ by his team as a potential candidate for the away corner.

“Nelson has been one of the names that has been talked about, he is a highly-ranked, undefeated guy, knockout artist. So, he has been one of the guys that has been spoke of.

“He has been spoken about for the fight.”

Fury has previously stated that his return could come on August 1 in Dublin, with the undercard of Pierce O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain’s super-lightweight showdown seemingly the show. However, recent developments in the US – ‘The Gypsy King’ hinting that he would be working with Dana White going forward- make those plans seem less likely.
