Trainer John Tandy is looking for boxers to join him at his new camp in London

Tandy hoping to find the right fighters to dupilcate his US success in the UK

Trainer John Tandy is looking for boxers to join him at his new camp in London

BUOYED by significant experience as a coach and manager in the US, Britain’s John Tandy has returned to Britain and aims to make something special happen in his home country.

Tandy has not simply set up a gym but instead, with the aid of sponsors, established an all-encompassing training and management programme for his fighters. This intriguing package includes a room – all bills and cable TV included – in the camp’s own house, which is local to the London gym, plus a full diet plan drawn up by a nutritionist and the food deliveries that service it, medicals paid for and a raft of other benefits. The idea is that managers can send their fighters to the camp for £1,500 per month all inclusive or if a boxer wishes to be managed by the in-house team, then a contract and fees can be negotiated.

Interested boxers can apply for a trial (they don’t just take anyone apparently) by contacting Tandy on 07592 399185, email him at tandyboxing@yahoo.com or visit www.tandyboxing.com for more details.

“We set very high standards and only guys with a real drive to make it and the ability to back it up will be considered,” Tandy explained. “Four guys I have managed made it into the top 10 in the world, and I have five years experience of management in the States, along with working over 50 title fights as head coach.”
