5. Ruslan Provodnikov
The California-based Russian is a previous holder of the WBO world super-lightweight bauble that Crawford currently owns and took to social media to call out Terence after his win over Hank Lundy.
Known for his exciting style, Provodnikov doesn’t know how to take a backward step and would surely pose a challenge Crawford hasn’t yet had to deal with. Crawford himself is an aggressive fighter and their styles would likely mesh into a thrilling fight.
However, Crawford would enter the fight as a heavy favourite and a clash with Provodnikov would be another step sideways for a man most consider one of the best boxers on the planet.
4. Lucas Matthysse
Again, a fight more to do with drama rather than anything else. Matthysse looked poor in his last outing – a 10th round knockout loss to Viktor Postol – though was once the danger man of the 140lb division due to his thunderous power and ruthless fighting style.
The Argentine has been in some terrific scraps over the years but, like Provodnikov, does not seem to be on Crawford’s level.
3. Manny Pacquiao
Crawford was reportedly in the running to face the Filipino icon in April, but Pacquiao will instead face Timothy Bradley for a third time in what will allegedly be his final fight. Should he continue to box, as many believe he will, a meeting with fellow Top Rank fighter Crawford would make a lot of sense.
Crawford could make the inevitable jump to welterweight to fight Pacquiao, or they could agree on some sort of catchweight. Either way, a passing of the torch match up between them would catapult Crawford into the big time, should he win.
2. Adrien Broner
As well as a unification fight (Broner holds the WBA belt), a bout between these two would be a fascinating clash of styles and personalities. The outspoken Broner polarises audiences while Crawford tends to keep himself to himself.
The promotion would be a hit and, despite his detractors, Broner is a fierce talent and would certainly give Crawford a decent fight.
1. Viktor Postol
The rangy Ukrainian became the division leader when he knocked out Matthysse in October. Though Crawford is considered one of the best fighters, pound-for-pound, in the world, he needs to beat WBC champion Postol to prove he is truly number one at super-lightweight.
With both promoted by Top Rank, it would seemingly be an easy fight to make.
