Tony Bellew fight time plus date and venue

Earlier this year, Tony Bellew achieved a lifelong dream when he won the vacant WBC world cruiserweight title by stopping Ilunga Makabu in three rounds at Goodison Park, home of his beloved Everton Football Club. On Saturday (October 15), the hard-hitting Liverpudlian will make the first defence of his crown against American BJ Flores at the Echo Arena in his hometown.

Rounds scheduled

12 three minute rounds.

TV coverage

The broadcast will be split over two channels. From 6pm to 8pm Sky Sports 3 will show some of the undercard action including Sean Dodd and Mairis Briedis. At 8pm, coverage switches to Sky Sports 2 for the main portion of the card, including Bellew’s fight.

Undercard highlights

Lightweight contenders Luke Campbell and Derry Mathews will meet in a real crossroads clash. Campbell is on the up and up after suffering a setback in December while Mathews is rebuilding after unsuccessfully challenging for the WBO world title earlier this year.

British bantamweight champion Ryan Burton takes on former European champion Ryan Farrag in another interesting fight.

Popular Merseysider Sean Dodd appears, as does Bellew’s mandatory challenger, the dangerous Mairis Briedis.
