DAVID HAYE continues to find ways to infuriate Tony Bellew.

The two rivals have signed to fight a rematch on December 17 at the O2. In an unexpected move up to heavyweight, after a bad-tempered build-up, Bellew halted Haye after the latter snapped his Achilles tendon. Haye is adamant that not only can he recover his fitness but that he will prove the first fight was an aberration.

Haye has even said he wants to go on to challenge unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. For Bellew that was going too far.

“David Haye will say whatever he needs to get his name in the media and sell himself. To call AJ out, he’s a clown,” Bellew told Betsafe.

“AJ is in a league of his own. The fight against Klitschko, the way he dealt with him. I predicted an AJ win, but I didn’t think he would win that way. If it went past six rounds I couldn’t see him winning but he proved me wrong. He came back, he had the mental attitude, cardio, stamina to over come Klitschko. He showed a punching variety that hasn’t been seen from a heavyweight in over a decade. I was so happy for him.

“AJ has earned everything he’s got, he’s come from nothing. That fight was the best fight I’ve ever been to live and now he is the face of boxing.”
