Tommy Fury, the only person to defeat Jake Paul in a professional fight, has offered his verdict ahead of the controversial clash between Paul and Anthony Joshua next month.

Paul has won 12 of his 13 bouts since making the switch from YouTube to professional boxing, with the exception being a split decision defeat to Fury in 2023, having knocked the Brit down in the eighth and final round.

‘The Problem Child’ has won six straight contests since, but is yet to face an active heavyweight during his career; his lone outing at the weight coming against a 57-year-old Mike Tyson – who had been retired for almost two decades before their meeting last year.

Nevertheless, the American has managed to secure a lucrative showdown with ‘AJ’, a two-time heavyweight champion who challenged for the coveted throne just 14 months ago. As a result, many fight fans are fearing for Paul’s safety.

Prior to that fight announcement, Fury informed The Stomping Ground of his prediction, stating his belief that ‘The Problem Child’ could not last one minute with Joshua, even if the Briton had a broken arm.

“If I can beat Jake then, excuse my French but, what the f**k is Anthony Joshua going to do to Jake?

“I think that my dad said that AJ could beat him [Jake] with his p***k and I completely will back that up. Even if AJ had a broken arm in there, it still wouldn’t go past a minute.”

However, despite giving Paul little chance in the fight, Fury quipped that a victory for his rival would be beneficial for his own career.

“How good does it make me look [if Jake wins]. If he [Joshua] gets beat by Jake, that automatically makes me two-time heavyweight champion of the world, doesn’t it?”

Paul-Joshua takes place on Friday, December 19, and the eight-round contest will top a Miami bill that is available to watch live on Netflix.
