Tim Bradley sees only one winner in Devin Haney vs Shakur Stevenson: “He cannot beat you”

Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson are in talks for a mammoth all-American showdown, and two-division world champion Tim Bradley has shared his thoughts on the rumoured fight.

Haney and Stevenson were linked to a clash earlier this year, but talks collapsed when Stevenson declared that he is not yet willing to fully venture up to welterweight, whilst Haney refused to drop down to super-lightweight.

Yet, in recent days, Haney has accepted a compromise, publicly agreeing to a 145lb catchweight affair, with no rehydration clause. 

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Bradley shared his confidence in Stevenson being able to claim the victory, despite the disparity in weight.

“As I study this fight and study your style, it don’t matter what weight Devin Haney is at. Devin can be 200lbs – he can not kick your a**, he cannot beat you. Yes, Devin can’t beat you.

“I say it again, this is probably an unpopular opinion, but damn it, I will say it again – Devin can’t f** with you, Shakur. He can’t. No, sorry. No, you’re a four-division world champion, my man. He is a three-division world champion.”

Then, ‘Desert Storm’ went on to urge Stevenson to make the full move up to welterweight and defeat Haney ‘at his full potential’, in order to remove any possible asterisk from what would be a career-best triumph.

“This is the equivalent to like, if Devin was to go up to 160 and beat the king right there at 160, who is Carlos Adames. That is what this win signifies, bro, this is greatness right here, for real. But, you have got to believe in your damn self, Shakur.

“Devin can’t touch you in any weight class, he can’t touch you, he can’t beat you.”

“You don’t want nothing attached to this when you whoop his a**, you don’t want no asterisk. You want to whoop Devin’s a** at his full potential!”

Even if Haney-Stevenson were to take place at a catchweight below the welterweight limit, Stevenson would be able to capture Haney’s WBO welterweight world title if victorious.
