Tim Bradley has weighed in on how WBC super-featherweight world champion O’Shaquie Foster will fare against challenger Ray Ford this weekend in Houston, Texas.

Foster will make the second defence of his strap since winning it back in a rematch with Robson Conceicao, looking to get by former featherweight champion Ford.

The reigning champion is perhaps one of the most underrated operators in the sport, with notable wins over Rey Vargas, Abraham Nova and Stephen Fulton. Ford has earned his shot with three wins at the weight since moving up.

The fight has also developed into a personal rivalry, with their relationship deteriorating through social media exchanges, press conferences and several heated face-offs during fight week.

Many see it as a 50/50 affair, but, speaking on his YouTube channel, Hall of Famer Bradley backed Foster to retain his title.

“I favour Foster in this fight because he’s a better thinker. Even when it’s hot, this guy stays calm. He stays calm and he figures out a way. He’s a straight dog, like I always told y’all. He shows up on time. It’s time to eat, and he’s gonna take that food from Ford.”

Should he retain his belt, Foster may look to move up to lightweight full-time and has made no secret of his desire to face Ford’s close ally Shakur Stevenson in the future – though no plans can be made until he gets past arguably the toughest test of his reign.

With a world title, bragging rights and genuine animosity on the line, Foster and Ford have every reason to produce something special, and the main event has all the ingredients to be the standout scrap in a stacked weekend of boxing.
