Tickets for Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao weigh-in sold out

Options running out for those hoping to see Mayweather and Pacquiao go head-to-head

Tickets for Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao weigh-in sold out

IT was never going to be easy to witness Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight. It’s thought that less than 1,000 tickets went on sale – some sources reported just 500 – to the general public after the vast majority of the 16,500 went to the promotional teams, corporate sponsors and, of course, the rich and the famous.

Fans hoping witness Mayweather and Pacquiao go head-to-head instead turned their attention to the attending the weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Chaotic scenes have greeted MGM weigh-ins in the past – particularly those featuring Mayweather and Pacquiao – with fans queuing for free admission several hours before the fighters de-robe and stand on the scales.

This time, though, entry would only be granted if a $10 ticket was purchased. All tickets have now sold out, less than 48 hours after going on sale. All funds raised through ticket sales will benefit Susan G. Komen and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health on behalf of the promotion.

Closed circuit presentations are also close to selling out although some tickets remain.

Even media outlets have struggled to get entry with many companies have their application for credentials rejected due to the huge number of applicants. Thankfully Boxing News – your loyal boxing companion since 1909 – have been granted entry.
