It was more controversial than strange when Howard Foster stopped the fight after George Groves, ahead on the scorecards, took some punishment from Carl Froch.
9. Williams-Cintron
Kermit Cintron flew out of the ring as he fell from a clinch with Paul Williams. He had to be stretchered out and Williams won a technical decision.
8. Golota-Bowe I
Wayne Kelly disqualified Andrew Golota for hitting Riddick Bowe with low blows, resulting in a mass brawl.
7. Bowe-Tillery
Elijah Tillery kicked Riddick Bowe after the first round, so Bowe’s manager Rock Newman climbed into the ring and wrestled Tillery through the ropes. Tillery was then disqualified.
6. Hopkins-Allen
After persistent holding, a frustrated Mills Lane pushed Bernard Hopkins and Robert Allen apart only for the former to fall out of the ring and injure his ankle, resulting in a No Contest.
5. Bradley-Vargas
Jessie Vargas wobbled Timothy Bradley before referee Pat Russell, mistakenly thinking he had heard the final bell, stepped between them. Vargas thought he had a knockout, but Bradley ended up winning on points.
4. Hill-Washington
Adolpho Washington accidentally cut his swollen eye on a video camera during the break after the 11th against Virgil Hill. The fight had to be stopped and Hill won a technical decision.
3. Holyfield-Tyson II
‘The Bite Fight’ ended after Mike Tyson was disqualified for biting Evander Holyfield twice in the third round.
2. Wilson-McCarthy
Tony Wilson’s 62-year-old mother climbed into the ring and attacked Steve McCarthy with her shoe in the third, cutting him. McCarthy refused to continue and Wilson was awarded a stoppage victory.
1. Lewis-McCall II
Oliver McCall broke down in tears in the fifth round against Lennox Lewis, forcing Mills Lane to wave the fight off.
