Terence Crawford has become many fans’ favourite fighter during recent years, but now ‘Bud’ has revealed his own list of five fighters that he loved to watch himself.

Crawford became the first three-division undisputed champion of the four-belt era when he dethroned legendary super-middleweight ruler Canelo Alvarez in a sensational victory back in September.

Off the back of that performance, the Omaha-born 38-year-old announced his retirement from the sport two weeks ago, hanging up the gloves with both an undefeated record and a place amongst the greats.

Speaking to Adin Ross on a Kick stream, Crawford revealed who he believes to be the best in history. After naming Floyd Mayweather as one of his favourite fighters, he added five fellow Americans to complete a list of six.

“We got Ali, we got Roy Jones Jr, Sugar Ray Leonard, we got Pernell Whittaker and I’m going to put Andre Ward in there. Those are the fighters that I can see footage of, I watched.”

Muhammad Ali is often regarded as the greatest of all time not just for his in-ring achievements, but his impact culturally. Many fighters consider a prime Roy Jones Jr unbeatable, and Sugar Ray Leonard and Pernell Whittaker shared the sort of ring intelligence people now recognise in Crawford himself. Ward, a close associate of ‘Bud,’ famously also retired undefeated.

The question for fans now is where does the man from Omaha slot in to their top fives?
