A fight between Teofimo Lopez and Ryan Garcia is one of the most appealing that can currently be made in boxing.
Both men are reigning world champions at 147lbs, with Lopez claiming the WBA welterweight title in August with a majority decision victory over Rolly Romero.
Garcia has held the WBC welterweight title ever since his unanimous decision win against Mario Barrios in February, and he made a successful first defence earlier this month after a dominant second round knockout win against Conor Benn at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Immediately after that fight, both ‘King Ry’ and ‘Teo’ made their intentions clear for a unification showdown, and now Lopez has taken to social media to respond to the latest comments from Garcia, who claimed that he wants the fight to happen in December.

The main reason why the clash may not be able to happen until May is because Lopez has since been ordered to defend his WBA strap against mandatory challenger Jack Catterall first, meaning if the 29-year-old wants to keep hold of his belt, he will have to initially deal with that clash.
As for Garcia, he has also been linked to a potential stay busy fight of his own against Isaac Cruz, before the possible showdown with Lopez over Cinco de Mayo weekend.
