TEN COUNT Chris Eubank Snr’s greatest victories
Nigel Benn's prime was many years ago

1. NIGEL BENN I

The Hove eccentric became world champ (WBO middle) for the first time with a ninth-round stoppage of the ferocious Benn.

2. THULANI MALINGA

Eubank dropped and outpointed this tough South African, who would later take the WBC 168lb belt from Benn.

3. GRACIANO ROCCHIGIANI

The German was 35-0 when Chris outscored him in 1994; four years later Rocchigiani won the WBC light-heavyweight title.

4. MICHAEL WATSON I

A majority decision saw Eubank retain the WBO middleweight title in this June 1991 encounter.

5. TONY THORNTON

This “Punching Postman” was a tough, seasoned performer when Chris unanimously outpointed him in September 1992.

6. MICHAEL WATSON II

The fight that left Watson seriously injured as a trailing Eubank pulled out a last-round victory for the vacant WBO 168lb strap.

7. LINDELL HOLMES

A pro since 1979 and a former IBF ruler, this American was beaten unanimously by Eubank in 1993.

8. ANTHONY LOGAN

Jamaica’s Logan had dropped and almost stopped Nigel Benn, but Chris outboxed him over eight in 1988.

9. RAY CLOSE II

They had drawn in 1993 but a year later Eubank won by split decision in Close’s Belfast backyard.

10. HENRY WHARTON

Eubank beat this York fairground worker by wider margins than Benn had managed 10 months earlier in 1994.
