IT got all a bit lively today at Boxpark in Liverpool, the stage for the Nick Ball-TJ Doheny WBA featherweight world title weigh-in.

The 126lbs weight limit was made by Ball but Doheny came in an ounce over. The Irishman had an hour to lose the necessary weight and did so to ensure he came in at 126lbs. Ball’s trainer and Doheny exchanged some words and things were turned up a notch during the face to face between the fighters. It has been a spikey build-up all week and this time both men had to be kept apart by security which an incensed Doheny tried to get away from to get his hands on the champion.

Andrew Cain and Charlie Edwards also got up close and personal for their British and Commonwealth bantamweight title weigh-in. Edwards began chatting to the champion who eventually heard enough and grabbed the challenger by the neck.

And even further down the card there was a shove from Cuban lightweight Jadier Herrera on Mexican opponent Jose Macias Enriquez.
