Teddy Atlas delivers verdict on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: “He’s got more left”

Anthony Joshua needed six rounds to halt Jake Paul last week and respected trainer, commentator and fight analyst Teddy Atlas has now offered his thoughts on how ‘AJ’ would fare in a potential clash against Tyson Fury.

Joshua and Fury are once again being linked to a long-awaited showdown, but there is genuine belief that the pair will finally collide in late 2026, with plans for each to appear in February and then meet later in the year seemingly in place.

At present, it appears as though Dutch kickboxer and Fury sparring partner Rico Verhoeven is the hot favourite to be in the opposing corner for Joshua, whilst Fury’s opponent remains a mystery.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Teddy Atlas gave Joshua the edge in a fight against Fury, believing that the Watford-born powerhouse will have more remaining in the tank after living a cleaner life during his professional career.

“This kind of fight comes down to who has got the most left, mentally and physically, but let’s just leave it on physically, who has got the most left physically?

“Both are getting up there in age and I would say maybe Joshua [has the most left], because he doesn’t live that kind of life and he doesn’t have those other things pulling away from him.

“He doesn’t have those things cutting into him a little bit, evaporating him in physical areas. So maybe [it’s Joshua who has more left physically], but at the end of the day it would be huge over there. The U.K. people will come out, they’ll have to get two stadiums!”

An announcement for Joshua’s next outing is expected imminently, with the fight likely to land in Riyadh but also possibly in the United States, after the increase in Joshua’s celebrity following his victory over Paul. Fury will also look to return around that time should the deal with ‘AJ’ get over the line.
