OLEKSANDR Usyk and Daniel Dubois weighed in ahead of their crunch rematch in front of an expected 90,000 fans in London tomorrow evening. As the pair stared down at one another, promoter Frank Warren showed the most stage-based aggression in the middle.
There was a brief jostle for a muscle-flexing position before they exited the scene. Firework sparks shot off towards the sky to signal the magnitude of the event.
“See you tomorrow,” said Oleksandr Usyk, who offered nothing more than the customary responses before wandering off.
Daniel Dubois said: “I’m locked in, I’m focused, I can’t wait. I’m going to win by any means necessary!”
On the undercard, weighty heavyweight Lawrence Okolie stated that he was ready for 10 hard rounds (or 12, depending on which record keeper you prefer) and is on the road to becoming a three-weight world champion.
These pair were supposed to fight at cruiserweight and then at Bridgerweight. Now they meet at heavy and Okolie predicted a stoppage. Kevin Lerena said he’s come to the UK to disrupt the heavyweight division.
