IT has been revealed that Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will do battle on Saturday in a 20ft ring, which is 4ft smaller than the maximum permitted size.

It was in a 24ft ring that Fury dethroned world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. On that famous night, the Briton – who is at his best boxing off the back foot – used every centimetre to outpoint the Ukrainian after winning pre-fight arguments about the gloves and ring canvas.

Against Wilder, though, Fury will have to work his magic in a smaller ring.

The size of the battleground was decided, upon Team Wilder’s request, during the negotiation period to seal the WBC heavyweight title fight.

The smaller the ring, the harder it will be for Fury to slip and slide is way out of trouble.
