Sergio Mora suffered fractured ankle in loss to Danny Jacobs

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Sergio Mora came up limping after a second-round knockdown to Daniel Jacobs on Saturday and was unable to continue.

It was a shame because the fight was shaping up to be a slugfest. The middleweights traded knockdowns in Round 1, but when Jacobs dropped Mora in the second frame, it was obvious the former Contender star could barely walk and referee Gary Rosato was forced to call the bout.

Mora said afterward that he was positive his ankle was broken and he left the arena on a stretcher for Lutheran Medical Center.
