Sergey Kovalev fight time, plus date and venue

THE fearsome “Krusher”, Russia’s Sergey Kovalev returns to his homeland, bringing his WBA, IBF and WBO light-heavyweight titles to Ekaterinburg on Monday (July 11) to take on Isaac Chilemba. Kovalev is a heavy favourite but this could set him for a major showdown with Andre Ward.

Rounds scheduled

12, three minute rounds.

TV Coverage

HBO screen the bout in the USA, showing it at 10.15 ET/PT. In the UK BoxNation will show the bout, their programme begins at 5pm.

Undercard highlights

On the undercard, a pair of Russians are aiming to improve their records to 8-0. Lightweight Pavel Malikov, who has so far recorded just one inside-schedule success, faces Filipino Leonardo Doronio, 15-12-3 (10), over 12, while super-welter Magomed Kurbanov, who has six stoppages, meets Brazil-born Argentina resident Davi Eliasquevici, 13-2-1 (10), in a 10-rounder.
