Mark Robinson/Matchroom

AN impressive victory over Kiko Martinez on the Manchester bill would, for Scott Quigg, add some credibility to a WBA title reign that has thus far been overshadowed by the presence of that body’s Super champion, Guillermo Rigondeaux, in the 122lbs division. Martinez is a former world ruler (IBF), the first Quigg has fought – and while he has lost twice to Scott’s big rival Carl Frampton (rsf 9 in 2013, pts 12 last year), the Spaniard holds wins over the likes of Jhonatan Romwero, Jeffrey Mathebula and Hozumi Hasegawa.
