JAKE Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions has exponentially elevated its British stable with the latest signings of Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron.
The two pound-for-pound stars of women’s boxing join unified super-bantamweight world champion Ellie Scotney, among an impressive selection of others, after inking a deal with the rapidly growing promotional outfit.
But while the additions of IBF world super-middleweight champion Marshall, (13-1, 10 KOs), and former undisputed queen Cameron, (20-1, 8 KOs), were announced, via MVP’s social media platforms, earlier today, the pair’s respective next opponents are nonetheless yet to emerge.
Still, despite having previously dipped her toe into the world of MMA, Marshall seemingly remains eager to decorate her illustrious legacy in boxing with further accolades.
The two-division champion’s only professional blemish arrived against Claressa Shields, arguably the greatest female fighter of all time, back in 2022.
Nevertheless, their showdown – which was built around Marshall’s victory over Shields in the amateur ranks – delivered an absorbing spectacle from start to finish.
And now, while ‘The GWOAT’ continues to campaign at heavyweight and ‘The Silent Assassin’ comes off a majority decision victory over Franchon Crews Dezurn in 2023, it would appear that all roads should lead towards their rubber match.
“The plan is to support Savannah in pursuing any fights she is interested in, which includes a rematch with Claressa Shields,” MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian told ESPN.
As for Cameron, it could be said that her decision to put pen to paper has come out of left field, especially given that she only amassed two outings after signing with Queensberry Promotions.
In any case, though, it would appear that plans for the 33-year-old – now training under the tutelage of Stephen Smith – remain nonetheless ambitious.
Before losing their rematch by an equally razor-thin margin, Cameron secured a monumental majority decision victory over Irish phenom Katie Taylor back in 2023.
And now, it seems, the WBC interim super-lightweight champion is likely to face the winner of Taylor’s trilogy showdown with Amanda Serrano on July 11.
“If whoever wins intends to keep the belt over the long term, they will have to face Chantelle,” Bidarian added.
