Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron added to MVP July card

MOST Valuable Promotions’ intriguing July 11 card in Madison Square Garden has filled out even more with the announcement of three more fight additions. Described as “the biggest night in women’s boxing history”, the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano trilogy headliner will have even more female support acts on the undercard.

Two years after winning the IBF super-middleweight title, Savannah Marshall will defend that belt in a unification against Shadasia Green, who holds the WBO strap.

Marshall will be joined by UK compatriot Chantelle Cameron, defending her WBC super-lightweight Interim title against Jessica Camara, who was last seen boxing to a contentious Technical Draw with Caroline Dubois. Cameron is the only woman to hold a pro win over headliner Taylor.

Further card inclusions see Ramla Ali return from her second career defeat to face Lila Furtado, a Brazilian also with two losses.

Ellie Scotney’s three-belt battle with Yamileth Mercado (who recently inflicted that second Ali loss) was already announced for the New York show. Joining them will be Dina Thorslund, 23-0, taking on Shurretta Metcalf. Alycia Baumgardner takes on Jennifer Miranda while Tamm Thibeault meets Mary Casamassa.

In the main event, even though Taylor has beaten Serrano twice, their matchups are so well contested that a third meeting will be just as exciting despite the lack of winning stakes.
