Ricky Burns v Michele Di Rocco fight time, plus date and venue

Ricky Burns will be looking to make history by becoming the first Scottish fighter to win world titles in three different weight classes when he faces Italian Michele Di Rocco for the vacant WBA super-lightweight title. Burns gets his chance on home turf as the pair will meet at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday (May 28).

Burns, a former super-feather and lightweight world champion, has seen his career dip after losses to Terence Crawford, Dejan Zlaticanin and Omar Figueroa. Di Rocco hasn’t lost since 2007, though his opposition has been fairly limited.

Rounds scheduled

12, three minute rounds.

TV Coverage

Live on Sky Sports 1 from 8pm (UK).

Undercard highlights

Tyrone Nurse defends his British super-lightweight title against Scot Willie Limond over 12. It is his first defence since winning the vacant title by decision in his rematch with Chris Jenkins in November.

The only other competitive fight on the card pits cruiserweights Jon Lewis Dickinson and Tommy McCarthy against each other over 10.

Plenty of well-known names will keep busy on the show in four and six-rounders including Anthony Ogogo, Charlie Flynn, John Ryder, Scott Cardle & Conor Benn.
