Heavyweight

Kubrat Pulev stays at No 2 with an easy win over a badly faded Samuel Peter in Bulgaria. Pulev is angling for a world title shot in 2017, most likely against IBF king Anthony Joshua.

Cruiserweight

Murat Gassiev enters at No 4 after edging out Denis Lebedev on a split decision. Lebedev – who was fourth – drops to fifth and everyone below also moves down a space with Mairies Briedis leaving the rankings due to the new addition.

Middleweight

Billy Joe Saunders holds on to his No 3 position – just. He was pushed surprisingly hard by unranked Artur Akavov in Scotland but managed to retain his WBO world title on the judges’ scorecards. The fight ended a year-long break from action for Saunders, who hopes to secure big fights next year.

Super-lightweight

Previously unranked – and unheard of – Julius Indongo steals Eduard Troyanovsky’s No 4 spot by stopping the IBF champion in 40 seconds. Due to the severity of the loss, and how much of an underdog Indongo was, Troyanovsky leaves the rankings completely.

Flyweight

Juan Carlos Reveco remains at fourth with a win over an unranked opponent.
