A POTENTIAL mega-fight could be in Regis Prograis’ future if he can become a three-time world champion.

The 35-year-old is confident he can rediscover his form of the past, which led to super-lightweight title reigns in 2019 and 2022. Prograis begins his rebuild on October 26 in Manchester against Jack Catterall 10 months on from his comprehensive defeat to Devin Haney.

A world title win for Prograis next year could lead to a fight against Gervonta Davis. ‘Tank’ and Prograis have had words in the past, and Davis is no stranger to fighting at 140lbs.

“Maybe me and Gervonta can fight one day,” Prograis told Boxing News at Thursday’s public workout.

“He bounces up and down. He the big star right now. If I go ahead and get a belt again – I will get a belt again – then we’ll see what happens.”

In June 2021, ‘Tank’ Davis stopped Mario Barrios in 11 rounds to win the WBA Regular super-lightweight strap. The American returns on December 14 to defend his WBA lightweight title against super-featherweight titlist Lamont Roach in Houston.

“I think Gervonta gonna stop him,” Prograis predicted.

“It’s hard to put anybody against Gervonta. The only people that can give him problems, maybe not even give him problems but the only people that I would want to see him fight is Shakur, Loma, someone like that or come up to 140 fight some of us. Right now, I don’t think nobody gonna touch Gervonta except Shakur.”
