Jake Paul has plotted his immediate future after getting stopped in the sixth round by Anthony Joshua.

The pair collided in a heavyweight encounter at the Kaseya Center, Miami, with Joshua detonating a thudding right hand to end proceedings.

For the most part, it was a rather scrappy affair, where Paul repeatedly dropped to the canvas in search of respite.

During the moments in which he remained on his feet, meanwhile, the internet star was mostly in survival mode, moving around the ring and showing a lack of willingness to engage.

Eventually, a surge of fatigue became too overwhelming for the boxing novice, whose knockout defeat arrived once he had practically emptied his tank.

Still, it must be said that Paul displayed an impressive chin, climbing up from three legitimate knockdowns before ultimately suffering his second professional blemish.

Given that he was severely outgunned from a physical and experience standpoint, too, many have elected to give the 28-year-old a great deal of credit.

One of them is Joshua, who praised Paul’s resolve at his post-fight press conference, while also admitting to not being entirely happy with his own performance.

As for Paul, it would seem that a broken jaw has not deterred him from chasing his ambitious dream of becoming a world champion.

Speaking in his post-fight interview, the American, instead, declared that he will continue to plug away once he is fully rested and recovered.

“I’m feeling good. That was fun. I gave it my all. I had a blast. Anthony is a great fighter and I got my ass beat but this is what this sport is about.

“I’m going to come back and get a world championship belt at some point. I’m not surprised [I went six rounds with Joshua]. I just got tired, to be honest.

“We’re going to heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people at my weight and go for the cruiserweight world title. I’m going to take some time off.”
