Michael Conlan (Featherweight contender)

Jessie “Bam” Rodriguez. What a fighter! The kid has unbelievable skills and maturity for someone so young. He’s very entertaining and also gets the KOs, which can be few and far between in the lighter division. A future pound-for-pound talent, in my opinion.

Wayne Alexander (Former European super-welterweight champion)

I have enjoyed watching Josh Kelly this year. After being beaten conclusively by David Avanesyan in 2021, he has changed his mindset and returned well with three good wins – especially the one against Troy Williamson, who was unbeaten and looking impressive. Josh controlled that British title fight from the first round to the last using good skills and timing. He won with ease and made Troy look ordinary

Jordan Gill (Former European featherweight champion)

For me, “Bam” Rodriguez has been a real pleasure to watch. I love his fan-friendly style, and appreciate the technicality of his attacks behind the subtle shifts of his feet and feints. He’s my breakout talent of 2022, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he produces in 2023 and beyond.

Ryan Walsh (Former British featherweight champion)

“Canelo” Alvarez. He’s a throwback fighter who dared to be great against Dmitry Bivol. Even though his trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin was a few years to late, he’s still one of only a few fighters I’ll wake up to watch at stupid o’clock in the morning. His second fight against GGG is one of the best I’ve ever seen – certainly at 6am!
