Panel: What do you make of Conor Benn making his return in Florida this weekend?

This week's panellists were asked for their thoughts on Conor Benn returning to the ring almost 12 months after two failed performance-enhancing drug tests scuppered a fight against Chris Eubank Jnr

Nick Campbell (Heavyweight prospect)

I will be honest, I don’t know enough about it. If he is guilty and he’s allowed to box, I don’t feel it’s fair because it’s a dangerous sport we’re involved in. You can lose your life in the ring and making it a clean sport should be the paramount responsibility of promoters, fighters, managers, everyone. If he’s legitimately not guilty, fair enough. If he is guilty and he’s getting to box, it’s not right.

Nathan Gorman (Heavyweight contender)

I haven’t really been following what’s been going on. If he’s guilty and he has done it, ban him for life. But if there’s evidence there and he hasn’t done it, you give the lad a fair shot. It’s one of them things. It’d be good to see him back. I’d like to see Benn vs. Eubank Jr. Anyone would like to see that after what Eubank did to Liam Smith.

Jack Massey (Cruiserweight contender)

It’s not good in my opinion. There have been a few people caught out lately with positive drug tests and people should be receiving long bans but there seems to be no talk of that. I don’t think he should be fighting any time soon. There are already talks about him and Eubank but there shouldn’t be any talks until he’s served his ban. Benn shouldn’t be fighting.

Tommy Welch (Heavyweight prospect)

My thoughts on that are fantastic, he’s been out of the ring now for some time. This will shake the ring rust off for him until he gets a bigger fight which everyone wants to see. It’ll put him in a better place with where he feels he’s at. He’s fit, he’s strong and he’s ready to go. I’m sure he’s chomping at the bit.
