Oleksandr Usyk invites Donald Trump to Ukraine amid LA protests

OLEKSANDR Usyk has invited Donald Trump to his home, urging the US President to deliver on his promise to end the horrific war in Ukraine.

The bona fide heavyweight king is in the thick of his training camp, diligently preparing for a rematch with Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, London, on July 19.

But while remaining focused on the task at hand – bidding to become a three-time undisputed champion – Usyk, 23-0 (14 KOs), has taken the time to voice his frustrations with Trump.

Amid his presidential campaign, Trump made the bold claim that he would end the conflict in Ukraine within just 24 hours of returning to the White House.

Yet sure enough, the polarizing figure has failed to live up to that promise, much to the disappointment of those still defending their homeland against a Russian invasion.

To make matters worse, Trump even dished out a public humiliation against President Volodymyr Zelensky – a beacon of hope for those fighting on the frontline – back in February.

But still, Usyk nonetheless remains eager to change the US President’s outlook, maintaining an unwavering sense of urgency to fight for his country.

“Donald Trump, please open [your] eyes, help my people,” Usyk told CNN.

“He should be responsible for the words he said. He said that in a month or a day, he would stop this war. He is not responsible for his words. Why does he speak?

“I offer him my home. Let him come to Ukraine. I will give him my home and my security guards. I will ensure his complete safety.

“Let him live in my house for a week and see how rockets fly over it and how people live in Ukraine.”

Usyk’s plea for further support arrives at a time when Trump has brutally clamped down on a series of protests taking place in Los Angeles.

The activism emerged in response to immigration raids, which involved around 40 arrests last week, that are designed to detain and eventually deport migrants.

But Trump has only taken extreme measures – deploying around 2,000 National Guard troops – to ensure that the largely Hispanic protests are suppressed.

So with the situation in LA – most likely leading to further violence – only becoming more volatile, Usyk has, all the while, extended his attempts to end the war in Ukraine, now lasting more than three years.
