NEXT week, Nikita Tszyu seeks to maintain his undefeated record when tasked with Lulzim Ismaili in Sydney. Ahead of fight night, ‘The Butcher’ has detailed one unorthodox strategy that is helping him best prepare.
Tszyu, 10-0 (8 KOs), has impressed thus far in his professional career and had been steadily emerging as a potential Australian super-welterweight representative on the world stage and possible world title challenger.
Yet, during a career-best victory against Koen Mazoudier 12 months ago, the 27-year-old southpaw suffered a hand injury that halted his momentum and kept him sidelined for a year.
Now, Australia’s budding superstar hopes to re-announce himself with a statement victory, ahead of an eventual bid to become the third world champion from the ‘Tszyu’ family, tasked with undefeated Macedonian Lulzim Ismaili, 12-0 (7 KOs), in five days’ time.
Speaking with No Limit Boxing, Tsyzu revealed that he has been drinking breast milk in preparation for his comeback.
“I’ve been having a bit of breast milk. I’ve always thought that it is the best milk for us, it’s designed for us, and I have it on tap at the moment. It’s been delicious.
“It’s a little bit watery, it’s got a little bit of sweetness to it. It’s essentially, like a milky, honey flavour.
Upon hearing of Tszyu’s eyebrow-raising antics in training, reigning IBF cruiserweight world champion Jai Opetaia, 28-0 (22 KOs), joked ‘there’s actually no need to do that bro!’, whilst former IBF bantamweight world titlist Ebanie Bridges, 9-2 (4 KOs), admitted that she too delves in breast milk ingestion.
Tszyu and Ismaili will top the bill at the ICC Sydney Theatre on Wednesday, 20 August, whilst the likes of Michael Zerada, 33-5 (21 KOs), and Brock Jarvis, 22-2 (20 KOs), appear on the undercard, before a pumped-up Tszyu takes centre stage.
