HENNESSY SPORTS has won the purse bids for their man, Nick Blackwell’s mandatory defence of the British middleweight title against former WBA Interim king, Chris Eubank Jnr, who is signed to Matchroom. Delighted to have nailed down a fight he has long wanted – as he told us late last year – the Lonsdale Belt-holder, from Trowbridge, was quick to take to Facebook and tell the world the details of the intriguing clash, with Nick Blackwell v Chris Eubank Jr taking place in Kent.
“Pleased to announce the fight with Eubank is happening!!” he exclaimed. “Will take place March the 5th in Bluewater defending my British title I’m gonna be 110% for this fight and trust me I’ll be walking away with that British for keeps!! Will let you know as soon as tickets go on sale .”
By Bluewater, Blackwell presumably means the Glow venue inside Bluewater shopping centre in Greenhithe, Kent, a location Hennessy Sports has used in the past.
