NICK BLACKWELL is in hospital once again.

Blackwell was gravely injured in a high profile fight with Chris Eubank Jr earlier this year. He suffered a bleed on the skull and was placed in an induced coma. Fortunately he recovered but was not permitted to box again.

However this week, after engaging in a sparring session, clearly against medical advice, he is now in hospital once more. Robert Smith, the general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, confirmed that he is in a stable condition after a procedure to relieve pressure on the brain.

The Board will be investigating how this could have happened.

Blackwell had become a trainer, though last month he told Boxing News, “I so badly wish I could get back in there and fight, but this [training] is the next best thing.”
