CHRIS EUBANK JR will have Wladimir Klitschko’s former trainer in his corner on Saturday night.

Jonathon Banks, who led Klitschko’s team after the death of Manny Steward, has also worked with Dillian Whyte and Gennadiy Golovkin.

Eubank isn’t shy at changing cornermen having previously worked with Ronnie Davies, Roy Jones Jr and Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre. The 35-year-old middleweight faces Poland’s Kamil Szeremeta on Saturday night. Banks was in Golovkin’s corner four years ago when the Kazakh great beat Szeremeta in seven rounds.

CANELO ALVAREZ will reportedly be in Japan on Sunday to watch one of the Inoue brothers in action.

Takuma Inoue defends his WBA bantamweight title against Seiya Tsutsumi on a card featuring four world title fights. Canelo’s trainer Eddy Reynoso will be working, however, as his fighter Cristofer Rosales takes on Kenshiro Teraji for the vacant WBC flyweight title.

SAM GILLEY has a new opponent for October 18, Boxing News understands, after Louis Greene withdrew from their rematch.

The two super-welterweights put on one of the best domestic fights of 2023 which Gilley won by unanimous decision. Greene’s replacement will be Jack McGann who was stopped in one round by Greene back in March.

STEPHEN FULTON will continue on his path to becoming a two-weight world champion when he returns on December 14.

ESPN report that the former unified super-bantamweight champion is set to face Brandon Figueroa at featherweight on the Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach undercard in Houston.

Fulton and Figueroa have already met once before in November 2021 when Fulton added the WBC world title to his WBO at 122lbs beating the Texan by majority decision in a terrific contest.
