Moses Itauma had been scheduled to take on Jermaine Franklin next Saturday, but a last-minute postponement has seen the show pushed back to a later date.
Itauma is deemed by many to be the future of the heavyweight division, continuing his streak of winning inside two rounds despite stepping up the level of his opposition over the last couple of years.
Now, the 21-year-old is on the verge of a shot at the world title, but agreed to face Franklin in the hope of banking further rounds and experience and potentially doing what Dillian Whyte and Anthony Joshua couldn’t by knocking Franklin out.
Itauma and Franklin were set to top a ‘Magnificent 7’ bill that features a host of well-matched and high stakes contests for Itauma’s second consecutive outing as a headliner.
However, Queensberry Promotions have now revealed that Itauma has suffered an injury during camp and that the entire event has been pushed back to Saturday, March 28, as a result.
“Moses Itauma has sustained an injury in camp for his fight with Jermaine Franklin on 24th January.
“Due to this, the whole Magnificent 7 show has been postponed and moved to the new date of 28th March at the Co-op Live in Manchester.”

It remains to be seen whether the undercard will remain the same or if some bouts will move onto alternate shows in the coming weeks.
