Mohamed Mimoune stops Tyrone McKenna in round five

MOHAMED Mimoune dished out a stone-cold stoppage in the SSE Arena, dissecting Tyrone McKenna in round five of a rematch thriller.

McKenna went down twice, both times from body shots, and was dispensed as the crowd tried to raise his spirits. It all went down while Mimoune battled through a damaged left eye caused by a possible head clash.

McKenna edged out of a possible retirement option for this clash and gave his all but was second best. Frenchman Mimoune gained revenge for a 2020 loss to Belfast’s ‘Mighty Celt’.

On the undercard, Fearghus Quinn was brutally dispatched in the second round of his clash with Aston Brown. The Scotsman unpacked a quality shot out of the blue to end matters.

Caoimhin Agyarko received a good workout from Bahadur Karami, winning a shutout after eight competitive rounds.

Dylan Moran caught Owen O’Neill cold and had the Belfastman out of there in just 19 seconds of their eight-round clash.

Opening the televised portion of the DAZN card, Cookstown’s Teo Alin bettered Engel Gomez over four rounds. Jack O’Neill won his debut, defeating Jake Pollard 40-36.

Further down the undercard, Cathal McLaughlin, Gary Arthurs, John Boyd, Dean Gonzalez-Furlong, and Matty Boreland all won.
