Mikey Garcia is the latest big name to weigh in on the upcoming Shakur Stevenson vs. Teofimo Lopez showdown.

Reigning WBC lightweight champion Stevenson moves up to super-lightweight to challenge Lopez for his WBO belt at Madison Square Garden in New York on January 31.

Ahead of the bout, a number of boxing stars have made their thoughts known, and now Garcia has offered his take, as Stevenson bids to match his accolades of being a four-division world champion.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Garcia broke down what he thinks is the biggest factor in the Lopez vs. Stevenson fight.

“Great match-up, tough fight. I want to see which Teofimo shows up because sometimes it’s Teofimo the great fighter who beat Lomachenko, who beat Taylor. That’s a tough Teofimo.

“But then we’ve also seen him in off nights, so that’s kind of the only doubt, the only question that I have, which Teofimo is going to show up?”

He then revealed he believes the size advantage favours Lopez, but admits Stevenson could prove him wrong.

“I would think Teofimo being that technically he’s a bigger fighter, bigger size, he’s been at the weight class a little more and then just maybe built into it more, I would think he would have to use that size as an advantage, but it’s hard to say because Shakur’s f**king good at what he does.”

With just over a week to go until Lopez and Stevenson meet, fans won’t have long to wait to see whether Garcia’s view may come to fruition.
