MARTIN GETHIN, the former British lightweight champion, fought Tommy Coyle in March. Here he gives his prediction for how he sees the Coyle’s big fight with Olympic gold medallist Luke Campbell going on Saturday.
“If Tommy can keep a tight guard and keep moving, I think it could go the 12-round distance,” Gethin said. “However, Campbell is so sharp and strong. Considering how quickly he’s been getting his opponents out of there so far in his career, I’m going for Campbell to win by stoppage in the middle rounds. When I fought Coyle, I didn’t think he punched that hard really. I nearly got him out of there in the second round, and I hadn’t even warmed up by then, so I think he’ll struggle to cope with Campbell’s style.”
