LYNDON ARTHUR will return to the ring on September 1 in Bolton.

The Manchester Evening News report that the British light-heavyweight will face Braian Suarez at the Bolton Whites Hotel six months on from their original date of March 24.

Suarez 18-1 (17) was forced to withdraw from the contest 24 hours before fighting Arthur due to a medical issue. The 31-year-old Argentinian will return to England in the hope of landing the biggest win of his career.

Boris Crighton travelled down from his hometown of Aberdeen at short notice to replace Suarez. The ‘Blade’ put up a respectable performance forcing Arthur to dig deep at times. Crighton was dropped in the 10th and final round but got back to his feet and heard the final bell. All three judges awarded Arthur the unanimous decision.

That victory was Arthur’s third in a row since signing with Wasserman Boxing 13 months ago. Having lost emphatically against Anthoy Yarde in their December 2021 rematch Arthur has since reeled off wins against Walter Gabriel Sequeira, Joe McIntyre and Crighton.

Arthur remains a leading player in the British light-heavyweight scene headed by the likes of Callum Smith, Anthony Yarde, Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez. A win for ‘King Arthur’ on September 1 will reward him with IBO strap at 175lbs.

Official confirmation of Arthur v Suarez could come today and the fight will be shown live on Channel 5 in the UK.
