THIS Saturday’s middleweight bout between Aaron McKenna and Linus Udofia is off.
The fight was to take place at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on the undercard of Natasha Jonas vs. Mikaela Mayer live on Sky Sports.
Udofia pulled out due to an illness with further details unknown. It is also unknown at time of writing whether the unbeaten McKenna will still feature on the show.
McKenna vs. Udofia looked on paper as the ideal test for the 24-year-old. In his 17 fights to date the Irishman has faced inferior opposition and former British title challenger Udofia was a step up in class.
The undercard now consists of Jack Cullen defending his British super-middleweight title against Zak Chelli, Germain Brown challenging English 168lbs champion Mark Jeffers, 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Karriss Artingstall in her sixth outing against Lila dos Santos Furtado, the return of cruiserweight contender and former Joseph Parker foe Jack Massey while Mikie Tallon, managed by Natasha Jonas, gets his fourth professional bout.
