Lennox Lewis has made his thoughts clear ahead of the heavyweight showdown between Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.
It was officially confirmed on Friday that Chisora and Wilder would meet at The O2 Arena in London on April 4, in a co-promotion between Misfits Pro and Queensberry broadcast live on DAZN.
The fight serves as the 50th professional bout for both men, and could lead to a future world title shot for the winner.
That is because Wilder had been in talks for a fight against unified heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk before agreeing to the fight with Chisora, while ‘Del Boy’ has been linked to WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley.
Before any potential title opportunity the pair will be fully focused on one another, and former undisputed champion Lewis has revealed who he is tipping to be victorious.
Speaking to FightHype, Lewis said he was leaning slightly towards Wilder.
“You’ve got two heavyweights in there, whichever one catches the other first goes because they’re both good punchers. I favour the guy with the longer arms. [Deontay] has the edge because he has the longer arms.”
Wilder heads into the fight with Chisora looking to rediscover some of his past glory, having suffered four defeats in his last six fights after battles with Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
Chisora on the other hand has been in good form as of late, claiming victories over Otto Wallin, Joe Joyce and Gerald Washington to set up the clash against ‘The Bronze Bomber.’
