When and why you started boxing:
I started at 11 years old. I’d wanted to do it for ages before but my dad wouldn’t let me until I was a bit older.

Favourite all-time fighter:
Anthony Joshua because of the way he carries himself.

Best fight you’ve seen:
Tommy Langford against Jason Welborn at Walsall Town Hall. It was an absolute tear-up.

Personal career highlight:
Boxing for the British title live on Sky Sports, although I didn’t get the result I thought I deserved. [Conway drew with Ted Cheeseman in June 2019.]

Toughest opponent:
Ted Cheeseman. I took the fight on short notice after having had three fights in the previous month. So I had to try to adapt my style to conserve energy for the 12 rounds. The pace was high.

Best and worst attributes as a boxer:
My strength is that I haven’t shown anyone anything yet, so people will underestimate me. My weakness is food. I love eating!

Training tip:
Respect the sport and give it your best.

Favourite meal/restaurant:
My favourite meal is jerk chicken and sweet potato fries from a restaurant in my local town called The Food Plug.

Best friends in boxing:
Sam Daly had a lot to do with me becoming a boxer. He’s a newly turned pro. Also Alex Le Guevel, who works at England Boxing.

Other sportsman you would like to be:
I’d do something where you don’t get punched in the face a lot! Maybe Esports [competitive video gaming].

Last film/TV show you saw:
It was probably some sort of dating show. My girlfriend and I watch loads of stuff like that.

Who would play you in a film of your life:
I’d choose Gerard Butler because he can clearly do it all.

Have you ever been starstruck:
I get starstruck every time I see [promoter] Eddie Hearn to be honest!

Last time you cried:
When I lost to the eventual winner in the national championships as an amateur. I was gutted at the time but I’m happy with how everything turned out.

Best advice received:
To be myself in all situations.

Worst rumour about yourself:
I don’t know of any but I’m sure there are some. It’s probably why I get a few weird looks on the streets!

Something not many people know about you:
I can speak some Polish because my girlfriend is from Poland.
