Kell Brook dedicates fight to the memory of Scott Westgarth

AHEAD of his super-welterweight contest with Sergey Rabchenko at the Sheffield Arena, Kell Brook completed the final run of his training camp on Monday.

He returned to Bramall Lane, the site of his most recent punishing defeat to Errol Spence, where last year Brook lost the IBF welterweight world title that he held so dear.

Walking them out through the players’ tunnel to his ring entrance music, ‘All of the Lights,’ Brook ran a last 1k round Sheffield United’s ground, accompanied by supporters, a group of the players and his Ingle gym-mates including Kid Galahad, who will box on the same bill.

“I’m incredibly proud of Sheffield and to be joined by so many supporters, for my final run ahead of the fight, especially in the freezing cold, was very special,” Brook said.

After his tragic death last Saturday, Scott Westgarth was in the former champions thoughts. Brook said, “The boxing community and Sheffield suffered a massive loss over the weekend with the tragic passing of Scott Westgarth. I’ve dedicated this fight to him, his family and the city. The support I received today shows how untied this city is and I can’t wait to get out there on Saturday night and get back to winning ways.”
