Keith Thurman’s cancelled showdown with Tim Tszyu could be reignited this summer

A rescheduled clash between Keith Thurman and Tim Tszyu is set to headline a non-PPV show this summer, according to boxing journalist Dan Rafael.

It was announced yesterday that, following a three-year hiatus, former welterweight king Thurman, 30-1 (22 KOs), will return to action against Australian contender Brock Jarvis on March 12.

The pair will headline a No Limit Boxing event in Sydney, Australia, with ‘One Time’ fighting for the first time since his unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios in 2022.

Even before that, though, Thurman has struggled to enjoy a lengthy spell of activity, with several injuries seemingly hampering the twilight years of his career.

Nevertheless, the 36-year-old looks to rediscover his form at super welterweight, promising to deliver the greatest comeback of 2025.

Tszyu, 24-2 (17 KOs), meanwhile, comes off the most torrid year of his professional career, losing to unified 154 lb champion Sebastian Fundora and IBF titlist Bakhram Murtazaliev.

His defeat to Murtazaliev, however, proved to be a far more punishing affair, with the Australian climbing off the canvas three times before getting halted by a stunning third-round finish.

And so, with Tszyu hoping to return to the win column this year, he could be presented with the opportunity to face Thurman.

The pair were supposed to collide last March, until a bicep injury ultimately forced Thurman to withdraw from their contest.

But now, Rafael has reported on his site, Fight Freaks Unite, that Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) are keen to reschedule their dustup as a non-PPV show on Amazon Prime this summer.
