Junto Nakatani vs Ryosuke Nishida weigh-in
JUNTO Nakatani kept his spindly frame beneath the 118lb limit ahead of an intriguing unification clash with IBF world champion Ryosuke Nishida.
The pair will square off tomorrow morning (UK time) at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo, Japan, headlining a card stacked exclusively with a selection of bantamweight matchups.
For WBC world champion Nakatani, 30-0 (23 KOs), his assignment represents an opportunity to take himself one step closer towards a mouth-watering dustup with super-bantamweight king Naoya Inoue.
But before the potential all-Japanese showdown can materialise, the 27-year-old must first cement his supremacy at 118lbs with what would arguably be a career-best victory.
Along with ‘Big Bang,’ Japanese star Tenshin Nasukawa looks to resume his scintillating rise following a statement victory over Jason Moloney in February.
This time around, the 26-year-old will take on Victor Santillan, a sturdy Dominican operator, before pushing on towards the world title picture.
Regarding this morning’s weigh-in, meanwhile, the only fighter to exceed the limit was Michell Banquez, though it is yet to be confirmed, as of now, whether he has successfully shaved off the 0.3lbs within his allocated two-hour window.
