Jesus Ramos knocks out Guido Emmanuel Schramm in round seven
Jesus Ramos

JESUS Ramos showcased his heavy hands with a seventh-round stoppage of Argentina’s brave but outgunned Guido Emmanuel Schramm in Las Vegas. Many of the rounds were rinse and repeat as Ramos let the shots go and Schramm willingly soaked them up.

Ramos arrived on a two-fight KO streak. Hiding just behind that statistic was a 2023 defeat to Erickson Lubin. Since that reverse, Ramos has arguably had a better time of it than the man who beat him.

Showing hard hands, defensive responsibility and maturity in his work, Ramos is only 24 but not far away from a title opportunity. Unleashing uppercuts and hooks to both head and body, Ramos forced referee Mark Nelson’s intervention at 1-38 of round seven as Schramm wobbled into the ropes and looked spent.

Jesus Ramos is now 23-1 (19 KOs), shaking off the loss to Lubin (who has not fought since that night, although he is scheduled to return soon). Gutsy Schramm is now 16-4-2 (9 KOs) and will get further opportunities, although always as a B Side opponent unless his luck turns.

The winner is part of the busy 154-pound division, topped by unified belt holder Sebastian Fundora, who pummelled Chordale Booker in the main event. Ramos would represent a stern test for any of the titlists.
