IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia has set up shop in London for the final stages of his training camp.

Opetaia is set to face England’s Jack Massey in Riyadh on October 12 and flew back to London for the press conference last week.

But, rather than spending another 30 hours to get back to Australia, Opetaia and his team decided to complete their preparation in London before heading to Saudi next month.

The 29-year-old has been working in a number of different gyms and has had no shortage of sparring with the likes of Dan Azeez already linking up to work.

It also means that Opetaia and WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith are now both training in London for the first time, with a unification clash between the pair possible next year should they both win their upcoming fights.

On the decision to finish camp in London, Opetaia said: “It’s good to adapt to new things and get uncomfortable. We’ve had some good sparring that we would not have got back home.

“We will just get in the trenches here and show these boys how to train and then we go and get it done in Riyadh.

“We’ve still got some hard work to do, we’re not done yet. I’m looking for some deep waters.”
